Happy New Year, Happy New You

Wow, it’s gone, another year. As I look back over last year I wonder…

Did I love enough?

Did I care enough?

Did I give enough?

Last year was the year that I decided to dig deeper in my relationships, to listen a little more intently and search for true joy and passion with those I love and care about. It was a year less driven by hitting some achievement and more about making another smile and discovering my true passion, finding a happy new me.

I was looking for my true self, self- discovery if you will.  I guess that is what happens to most 39 year olds. Some call it mid-life crisis or growing up. I call it growing into yourself.

Only through experience do you truly know who you are, who you want to become, and through all those trials and tribulations, you truly discover you.

The real self: passionate, hurting, loving, tender-hearted, brave, over-whelmed, driven, joyous, lonely, angry, jealous, romantic, giving dreamer that lives inside your heart. All of those experiences that build your character and enchant those around you…all of it, the good and the bad… is what makes you so special.

The perfect, timeless creation that is you. You are needed, you are loved, you are important and there will never, ever be anyone like you. There has never been a better time than now to appreciate all that you are.

This is a new year, change is inevitable and that is what is beautiful about a new year. A chance to start again, make a new list of where you want to be, who you want to become and make time really count. After all, time is the only commodity that we can’t buy. You can never get it back so you better relish every second.
