DON’T BE CHEAP, EASY OR FAKE
I honestly believe the easiest way to maintain a healthy weight and a healthy body is to eat food without a label. That has always been my philosophy.
For instance, an avocado, a banana, broccoli, clean whole protein like ocean caught (not farm raised) Sockeye Salmon from the northwest, whole grain brown rice, sweet potatoes, etc. Obviously the list is very long of what is good for you. SO this kind of eliminates bread, unless you make it, pasta…unless you make it…
You get the idea. WHOLE FOODS.
Real food, not processed or altered in any way. I would of course add non GMO to that agenda too.
Your body is not meant to break down or utilize, in any way, these crazy man-made substances that need a list a mile long to describe what you are putting in your mouth.
How about fast food out of a window? WRONG! Just because it’s warm, doesn’t make it right. Like American cheese, yeah, it’s not cheese, it’s fake and plastic, but it tastes good, so who cares?
Um I do! My children have never had American cheese (that I know of anyway.) They aren’t missing anything. Their little colons are much happier without plastic gluing everything together. Obviously, you can tell I could go on for hours about the food industry.
Listen, just eat whole foods. Simple enough right?
Most people would say “WRONG” because they think it takes hours to prepare dinner if it doesn’t come out of an easy make box. It doesn’t take hours. A simple baked sweet potato with butter and cinnamon, that ocean caught amazing grilled salmon with a Mediterranean rub, thrown on the grill with some steamed broccoli with truffle oil (or organic butter if you don’t want to get fancy) and parmesan, can take 30 minutes.
Wallah! A gastrogasm in your mouth in less than an hour and only minutes of food prep time. Plenty of fiber, low glycemic, and full of vitamins and minerals. AND you can eat this or a variation at least once a week. This is a meal without labels, that will keep you full and satisfied and won’t stick to your butt.
So there, no more shopping in the middle aisles. Stay around the perimeter of the grocery store to keep your heart healthy and your abs flat. Your body is better than something fast, easy, cheap or fake!
So, what’s for dinner??
