The Past, Present and Future You

“Take pride in how far you’ve come. Have faith in how far you can go. But don’t forget to enjoy the journey” – Michael Josephson

This quote really caught my eye today and I think it is a very important one to expand on for a couple of reasons.

Although we always want to focus on living in the now, it is also very healthy to reflect on your life and give yourself credit for the experiences that you have made it through. All too often we take ourselves for granted. We say “Well, of course I made it through that situation. I had no other choice.” But you did have a choice! There are so many choices with each experience and you chose the one that got you through and helped you grow. Congratulations! Don’t take that lightly.

You know when you are in a relationship, whether it be with a friend, a lover or a parent, and you give and give and give but don’t seem to get very much back? Well, guess what. You can do that to yourself too. If you give so much of yourself but don’t return the compassion and gratitude for doing so, you are running yourself ragged.

The next part of this quote is to “have faith in how far you can go”. Goals, wishes, plans, and intentions are part of what build your reality. You can manifest your life by seeing yourself in the house you want to be in, with the partner you want to have or working that perfect job. You have this power and you need to keep that in mind. That’s where the faith comes in. Remember all of those experiences that pushed you to your limit? There will be many more and you will have the strength to move through them as well.

Stay strong and continue to love yourself!

Enjoy the journey,

Laura Laire

Thank you Laura- I remember surviving so much but not really living. And now, with each day I attract what I want and I seem to be getting closer to who I am and the little girl that was lost for so long. Thank you for being a friend.
