MOTIVATED BODY, INSPIRED BUSINESS

Artofyoumotivationjillian
Coming home from Shop.com’s World Conference in Miami and I can’t help but think of what all 25,000 in attendance are doing today? Of course you leave motivated, educated and inspired, but that can wear off, in as short as a couple days. What keeps you going?

I’ve recently become addicted to Jillian Michaels’ DVD workout series “Body Revolution”. I love these at-home workouts because I can get them done in 30 minutes, with cardio, strength training, even yoga, 5 days a week. It is more than convenient, it’s a tough workout, and saves me a lot of travel time, gas, etc. Jillian has a way to kiss and kick you at the same time, which I love and my body responds to! She’s motivating and supportive, but no nonsense and NO EXCUSES. Thus her quote “Unless you puke, faint, or die, keep going”.

I am reminded of this philosophy in life. If you’re not at the wheel, who is driving the car? People without goals drift, and your goals and personal action must meet to get you somewhere.

For instance, if you want to lose 10 pounds and wear skinny jeans, you make the commitment to be consistent with healthy diet and exercise. If you want growth in your business or job, you must have a desire to be somewhere you are not, consistently reaching for your goal.

Then you design an action plan and a timeline in order to accomplish that goal. If you don’t reach it, you adjust the date to be in line with reality. But…

You don’t quit, you just keep going.

As Jillian says, it may be uncomfortable but you’re not going to die. It doesn’t need to be comfortable. When you feel a little pain, that is the exact moment when change is imminent.

Any achievement is worth the time it takes to get there. You can transform your life with a worthwhile goal, consistent effort, and relentless pursuit.

Love and a bicep curl,

LL
