(VIDEO) The Law of Attraction: How to change your life by changing the way you think.

One of the most common questions I get is, “What is the law of attraction and how can I use it to get what I want?” Although I could write an entire book or a course on this topic, hopefully, this overview will help you deliberately create an extraordinary life, rather than letting the Law of Attraction just have it’s way with you by default.

What is the Law of Attraction?

Law of attraction is a universal law that affects you whether you understand it or not, similar to gravity. You may not understand how gravity works but you do know if you jump off of a building you will hit the ground; you may even die.

If you know how gravity works you can better prepare for the outcome. For instance, you could wear a parachute to slow the descent and come down gently. If you understand how to better use law of attraction, then you will be creating consciously and can use this law to your advantage.

How does the Law of Attraction work?

Your thoughts have energy to them, a frequency, just like a radio frequency. So when you think of something, you are transmitting a wave. For example, you’re standing in an elevator and you stare at the back of someone’s head. What do they do? They turn around and look at you because they feel the energy of your thoughts.

Have you ever thought about a friend or someone you would really love to see or hear from? Maybe it has been 15 years since you’ve talked to them. Then, out of the blue, you get a phone call after you had been thinking about how much you would love to find them. Law of Attraction at work which creates synchronicity! You are attracting what you want without any resistance to how it is going to manifest.

The Law of Attraction works all the time whether you’re aware of it or not. The problem is that most people are thinking about what they don’t want instead of what they do want. Most people are just observing reality and “what is,” rather than creating what they would like to experience.

The Law of Attraction and Negativity

People complain, let’s face it. This is just what people do. They complain about the weather, the meal they just had, traffic, politics or waiting in line for too long. They complain about their spouse, their job or business, and especially lack of money.

We all have stuff that we could complain about constantly in our lives. Rather than indulging in the negative, you can notice it, but don’t give it any of your energy to it by talking about it, telling stories about it or reliving it over and over in your mind or with other people you talk to. When you are focused on anything, you are pulling it to you or including it. You can’t simply shout NO more debt and make it go away in a universe of inclusion. “I don’t want debt” is including debt.

An abundant mindset would let go of debt by affirming and feeling as if “I always have more than I need. Money comes to me frequently and easily. I am always provided for.”

Think of something positive that you want to experience in your life, imagine how you would feel having it in the present tense. The energy of that feeling is what will start pulling it towards you because that is the energy you are emitting. How you feel is much more important than what you say.

Important to note though; the Law of Attraction is not instant. For example, the moment you think about how much you love puppies, you don’t want a whole bunch of puppies to come out of nowhere into your life. There is a buffer of time between what you’re thinking about and what you receive. It’s about you matching up your energy to what you want.

The Law of Attraction and Love

Ever heard a woman chatting about wanting to find love and hear something like this:

“Where is my Prince Charming? I want my soulmate. Where is he? I’m never going to get married. I’m never going to find the right person.”

I have heard this many times from women who are getting older and feeling the desperation of living alone. The energy being emitted here is how alone you feel and the lack of love rather than feeling loved, even from friends or family. Appreciating relationships of any kind is an abundant feeling and is based on love rather than fear. This is how you attract more love into your life, even a mate that loves you. Feel and focus on the feeling of love from anyone, anytime for anything, even a pet in order to attract more love into your life.

When I went I was looking for a spouse years ago, all I kept thinking was, “Is it you? Is it you? Is it you? Are you my soulmate?” as I was dating or meeting new people. If you know very clearly what you want, when you receive it you will know.

When I met my husband, both of us had goals that were written down, including a list of what we wanted in a spouse. My husband gave me four pages of his “dream woman” and it was like me on paper. He handed it to me and he said, “I’m done.”

We’ve been together for almost 14 years. Most of the time is blissful but everyone has their differences from time to time, especially after having two kids. Anytime you have problems or suffering, you have the opportunity to create something new because of the contrast of a negative experience. Pain gives you clarity to stimulate change and helps you to create new goals and new visions for your future.

The Law of Attraction and the Human Brain

While your brain is wired to protect you from danger by worrying and/or reliving bad experiences, you CAN rewire your brain to focus on the positive. This may take a little effort at first since you need to bypass the protective nature of the human brain. I’m sure you hear people tell you to be positive all the time, which for some people, can be annoying.

I have gotten responses like this:

“Why should I be positive? I want to talk about the way it is. I want to be annoyed by my job, my boss and by the things that I have to do.” Or “I want to be frustrated sometimes because it feels good to be complain to other people and focus on what is. That’s my reality and you should face reality.”

No, you shouldn’t face reality. [ctt_hbox link=”5cfxH” via=”no” ]You should create your own reality and the way that you do that is by letting go. You cannot complain all the time about how everything is not going right for you and expect it to change.[/ctt_hbox]

Think of yourself as a magnet. You get whatever you focus on, good or bad. You attract what you think about all the time, whether you like it or not. Remember that there is always a buffer of time between what you are thinking and what you receive with the Law of Attraction. This buffer really serves you because it gives you time to straighten your thoughts out. A positive thought is a million times more effective than a negative one.

What is the law of attraction?

I’m not perfect, I have bad days. Everyone does.

My husband has bad days too but we’re good about working with each other to remind ourselves of what we are giving our attention to. I am famous for saying, “What are you grateful for?” or “What are you attracting right now?” right at the moment when someone is in “complain mode.” My husband loves it when I do that. 🙂 He does same for me when I am complaining or stressing out. It is wonderful to have someone who can mirror you when you are attracting disaster by complaining, which we all do sometimes.

If you say you’re tired and you’ve been saying that every single day…guess what? You’re going to feel tired. You can’t always talk about how tired you are and expect to feel energetic. My husband was feeling this way for days on end and finally he said, “You know what? I’m going to get on the treadmill and create energy instead of complaining that I’m tired.”

You have to make the decision to take your attention away from “what is,” and decide to create something different. You have the power to change the way that you think and feel by taking action, by moving the body to stimulate energy and change the state that you are in. Moving your body is one of the fastest ways I know to change your mental state.

The Law of Attraction and Goals

[ctt_hbox link=”3f3U1″ via=”no” ]Create action towards what you want. Whether you’re looking for a spouse or you want to make more money or you want to start a business or whatever it is, it’s important that you start doing something towards that goal. [/ctt_hbox]

Even if it starts with researching a topic or talking to other people, get into a place where you actually believe that what you’re trying to manifest, is a possibility rather than being focused on the impossibility. Experience will help you gain clarity on what you want. Your soul is here to experience, whether it is good or bad, you are growing and every experience is valid.

Many people think about what they don’t want most of the time. This is why they create more of the same. Do you know anyone who keeps attracting the same bad relationship over and over? Could it be because they’re still talking about each bad relationship? They’re remembering the past, all the problems and what went wrong instead of creating a new relationship to look forward to.

I have heard many times, “Why me? My life has is a constant struggle. The same things keep happening to me over and over. I guess I’m just meant to suffer.”

[ctt_hbox link=”S3uR3″ via=”no” ]No, you’re not meant to suffer. You can change your life by changing the way that you think. You can change your experience by changing the conversations that you have, by changing your thoughts to a new frequency or joy. Life is meant to be joyful. Be more like a child, be free,[/ctt_hbox]

No one is out to get you, no one is destroying your life. You can choose to look at your job in a positive light or you need to make a change. You can look for the positive because it is there… but only if you’re looking for it. You will always find what you are looking for, in people, in your work, and in all aspects of life. If you can’t seen to find anything to be grateful for, then it is time for change. Do something about your circumstances or stop complaining, “all else is madness” as Eckhart Tolle has said.

Pay attention to what you’re saying to yourself and other people.

Notice if you are talking about what you want or what you don’t. What if can be a very powerful question.

Negative: “What if my car breaks down? What if I can’t afford gas to put in my car? What if I lose my job?”

Positive: “What if I made more money than I’ve ever made this year? What if my dream soulmate or somebody that I’m looking for shows up in my life this year?”

If you change your thoughts to what you want, how would that make you feel? Would you smile a little bit more? Would you be happier? Would you talk about what’s great in your life more frequently? How would that change your life?

[ctt_hbox link=”675gf” via=”no” ]It is the emotional energy you are emitting that is attracting more of the same.[/ctt_hbox]

It is imperative that you feel good to create an abundant life. If you can do that now, if you can get into the feeling place of having what you want, like it’s already manifested, that’s how exactly how you’re going to attract an extraordinary life filled with everything you can imagine. Law of attraction doesn’t work from your brain, it is coming from the deepest parts of you, from your soul. Finding a way to find joy and bliss, to love rather than be fearful, to find gratitude daily, to know you are deserving, worthy and always getting a match to who you truly are is the secret to having it.
