Fall Food Guide
Eating healthy is not just about getting the right balance of fiber, protein and carbs but you also want to eat local and seasonally! That way you know it is fresh, hopefully picked when ripe and full of nutrients. When you buy food that isn’t local or seasonally and has been shipped from other countries, it is almost always in the dying stages of it’s life. No enzymes, devoid of minerals and vitamins and it never really tastes the same. Think about a strawberry or peach when they are at the peak of the season versus one at the grocery store in the dead of winter. Strawberries aren’t bright red, with an incredible sweetness and juicy flesh. Instead it has a white top, pink flesh and rather tasteless and even bitter sometimes.
