Are excuses keeping you from taking action?

Excuses. We all have them. I have them. You have them. Everyone uses them. I just want to know if your excuses are keeping you from taking action?

We can say that “I don’t have time.” But you do have time. We both do. I have time and you have time.

Sometimes it just means getting up a little bit earlier, if you want to go to the gym, because you want to be healthier.

Sometimes that means going to bed a little bit earlier because you want to be able to have time to read a book or educate yourself or finish school or start a business.

Whatever it is, there is always time.

I don’t think most of us have an issue with having goals or things that we want, it’s just execution. The difference between taking action and not is actually putting it in your calendar.

You probably have a specific time when you eat, go to work, or watch a show on TV or netflix because these are priorities to you.

All of these things may or may not be in your calendar but you have a set time for them. Having a designated time for important activities is what makes somebody ultra productive and be able to squeeze more in to be productive with their time instead of getting sucked into Instagram, Facebook or Netflix. It doesn’t have to be a set time every week but it’s scheduled in if it’s important to you.

If you’re like me, you are busy. And that’s one of the ultimate excuses. “I’m busy.”

I have two kids and two dogs. My husband and I own several businesses. I have a lot of things that are always going on, all the time.

If I want to get something done, like let’s say launch a new course or write a book or start a new business or anything of the sort, I’m going to have to weave that into my already busy schedule.

There is always time. It’s how you prioritize and use your time.

You can even work in five and ten minute increments if you know what needs to be done. This is where an action list or to do list comes in handy. Stop obsessing over what you haven’t done and write it down so you can tackle it when you have the time. I actually like to put time into the calendar to work on the “To do list” and set aside an hour or 30 minutes just to work on crossing off items on the list.

We do what’s important to us and make excuses for the rest.

Even If you work 45, 55, or 65 hours a week you still have extracurricular time, whether it’s before or after work. It’s just that we do what’s important to us. And for most people it’s watching TV as a reward for working hard or maybe it’s something else, but you do what’s most important for you.

We have to re-evaluate your priorities and decide:

“What do I really want to happen in my life right now?

What am I willing to give up or overcome in order to achieve it? (TV?)

And have I scheduled it?

Scheduling is the critical difference between wanting something and actually taking action to manifest it.

Stop saying “I’m too busy” or “I just don’t have time” and put it in your calendar.

If it’s important, there is always room.

Now I want to know, what techniques or habits do you use to create massive action in your life and work? Post in the comments below and let me know.
