Superfood Cookie Monster Bites For All Ages

“Mommy, I’m hungry.” We just had breakfast! “Can I have a snack?”

“Mommy, I’m hungry.” You just ate lunch! “Can I have a snack?”

“Mommy, I’m hungry.” We just had dinner!

“Mommy, I’m hungry.” It’s time for bed!!

Sound familiar? If you have kids, you know what I mean. “Eat an apple. Get some grapes, peel an orange, grab a yogurt…grab a cookie monster superfood bite.” If you don’t have food ready to eat for a snack, you are making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches all the time. My son could live on them. Not that I think he should, but that is his FAVORITE thing to eat. Good thing I make homemade Einkorn Sandwich Bread or this would be very bad!

With most children, any kind of finger food is always a hit for a snack.

I still have trouble getting Skylah to use a fork at 5 years old. I won’t lie, I like eating asparagus and green beans with my fingers, too. Some of us never grow up! I like stirring salads with my hands, too. There is something about the connectivity with your hands when you are cooking and eating! Seriously your hands are the best kitchen utensil ever! Just wash your hands before you touch food, ewh…gross!

My kids really enjoying cooking with their hands and this recipe is fun for the kids to make.

Now that they are out of school, this is a good project to keep them busy for a little while. It is also easy to edit with your favorite ingredients or whatever you have handy in the kitchen (which is pretty much how this recipe happened.) I have used many different ingredients when making these snacks so feel free to edit, just make sure everything sticks together!

Did I mention I used superfoods in these little monsters?

And you don’t have to bake them and there is no artificial ingredients or added sugar? It should only take you 10-15 minutes for a sweet treat you can feel good about! This is also a great quick breakfast along with a boiled egg when you are chasing a kid to the bus to eat breakfast!
