If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em

On any given Sunday, my husband is busy somewhere doing something I might would want to be doing that is not in my living room; where I am with BOTH my kids under 4!  I have not showered, I am covered in THEIR food and I haven’t stopped chasing after someone all morning.

G I Joe hanging on for dear life

My 11 month old, Skylah, has discovered that she can stand in her high chair.  Even though she is buckled in, she is so tall and skinny that she can wiggle her way out of the “oh so tight” belt.  So the peanut butter and jelly sandwich that she was eating ended up in a HUGE pile all over the floor and chair and the light switches that she’s learned how to reach.

And don’t break your neck on the hundreds of magazines that Skylah’s moving from one side of the living room to the other.  As I put them back on the table, she thinks tis hilarious to put back on the floor.  So that’s their new spot, in a pile on the floor, why bother?

Tristan meanwhile is taping and stringing up men all over the house.  They are hanging from cabinet knobs, blocking the fridge from being opened and parachuting from the ceiling.

And As I ask him what’s up with ALL the pillows and blankets stacked up 4ft in the living room, he very cunningly replies “that’s my castle of traps!”  Don’t even try to put them back on the couch or your ears will get a workout.

If you can beat ’em, join ’em.

Love for all the moms out there who are just trying to make it through the day, enjoy this day because it will be gone before you know it!
