As I look back over last year I wonder… Did I *love* enough? Did I *care* enough? Did I *give* enough? Last year was the year that I decided to dig deeper in my relationships, to listen a little more intently and search for true joy and passion with those I love and care about. It was a year less driven by hitting some achievement and more about making another smile and discovering my true passion, finding a happy new me. I was looking for my true self, self- discovery if you will.  I guess that is what happens to most 39 year olds. Some call it mid-life crisis or growing up. [I call it growing *into* yourself](https://lauralaire.com/you-can-do-anything-you-set-your-mind-to/). ![](https://lauralaire.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/Copy-of-inspirational-post-4_26-300x300.jpg?width=300&height=300&name=Copy-of-inspirational-post-4_26-300x300.jpg) Only through experience do you truly know who you are, who you want to become, and through all those trials and tribulations, you *truly* discover *you*. The real self: passionate, hurting, loving, tender-hearted, brave, over-whelmed, driven, joyous, lonely, angry, jealous, romantic, giving dreamer that lives inside your heart. All of those experiences that build your character and enchant those around you…all of it, the good and the bad… is what makes you so special. The perfect, timeless creation that is you. You are needed, you are loved, you are important and there will never, ever be anyone like you. There has never been a better time than now to appreciate all that you are. [This is a new year](https://lauralaire.com/the-best-is-yet-to-come/), change is inevitable and that is what is beautiful about a new year. A chance to start again, make a new list of where you want to be, who you want to become and make time really count. After all, time is the only commodity that we can’t buy. You can never get it back so you better relish every second. Happy New Dreams Happy New Days Happy New Desires Happy New Ways Happy New Year Happy New You 2015 is your year to transform yourself, be inspired, and live better. I’ll be right there with you, Laura [![live a life you love](https://lauralaire.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/subscribe-banner-Oct-17-2025-09-43-35-9153-PM.png?width=1200&height=500&name=subscribe-banner-Oct-17-2025-09-43-35-9153-PM.png)](https://lauralaire.com/loveyourlife?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=subscriber-cta&utm_campaign=subscriber) [High Performance](https://lauralaire.com/blog/tag/high-performance) #### Share: - [Follow us on Facebook](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https://lauralaire.com/blog/happy-new-year-happy-new-you) - - [Follow us on Google Plus](https://plus.google.com/share?url=https://lauralaire.com/blog/happy-new-year-happy-new-you) - [Follow us on Linkedin](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https://lauralaire.com/blog/happy-new-year-happy-new-you) - [Follow us on tumblr](https://www.tumblr.com/share/link?url=https://lauralaire.com/blog/happy-new-year-happy-new-you) - [Follow us on Pinterest](http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=https://lauralaire.com/blog/happy-new-year-happy-new-you&text=Happy%20New%20Year,%20Happy%20New%20Youdescription=&media=https://50530809.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/50530809/Imported_Blog_Media/Blogs-5_8-1-1.jpg) - #### [SALTED ROSEMARY HAYSTACK Previous Post](https://lauralaire.com/blog/salted-rosemary-haystack) #### [WINTER BEET SALAD Next Post](https://lauralaire.com/blog/winter-beet-salad) --- ###### Related Posts [4 Steps to Become the Best in the World at Anything](https://lauralaire.com/blog/best-in-the-world) [The Genius Hour – 3 Steps to a Powerful Morning + Challenge](https://lauralaire.com/blog/geniushour) [The #1 Reason Why You SHOULD Always Want to Make More Money](https://lauralaire.com/blog/always-want-to-make-more-money) [Ever Wanted to Fit In?
