Attract a Life You Love

attract a life you love

In my 20’s I wanted to love my life and I didn’t. In fact I was miserable: physically, emotionally, financially, it just couldn’t get any worse. When you want to change, you will begin to attract the information you need to change your life.

I first began to understand how the universe works 15 years ago when I stumbled across “17 Principles of Personal Achievement” by Napoleon Hill, who said, “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

This is called the law of attraction, which many people are familiar with because of the movie “The Secret,” but most don’t understand how really powerful it is. Whether you want it or not, you are attracting what you “think” about and “feel” about most. Most people are just attracting by default because they aren’t actively using their thoughts or attention to create their experience.

law-of-attraction

What is happening to you is in response to your thoughts, feelings and actions and it is happening to everything around you, including other people.

So, is life really happening to you or are you creating it?

You get whatever you focus on, whatever you are feeling, good or bad. Since the universe is neutral, it will give you negative if that’s who you are.

Most people think about what they don’t want 90% of the time.

You get what you are looking for. If you look for the negative, you’ll find it, in your children, your spouse, your job, your friends, anything… that also means, if you look for positive things, they will be there as well.

Begin to notice what you are talking about with your friends, daydreaming about in the shower, watching on TV or reading about on the internet.

When you give your attention to anything regularly, you are inviting that to become part of your experience. Not right this second, because sometimes, it can be chronic thought, but it can be quick too. It depends on how much resistance or lack of resistance you have to the idea.

For instance, I can think about a friend and hold that image in my mind. Then when I let it go, not worry if they are ever going to call. I have no resistance to that person contacting me and so they do!

According to author Esther Hicks, after 16 seconds of marinating on a negative thought, universal forces begin coming together; the people, the things, it all gets lined up for you. Our universe is one of inclusion. You are including it in your experience by giving it your attention.

In an abundant universe, there is no such thing as lack…You can’t feel broke and attract more money. You can’t shout “no more debt” and make it go away. By feeling like there is more than enough by having gratitude, you will begin to release your resistance to money and become a match to “more than enough” in your financial life.

Successful people have faith and trust that money will continue to flow to them through feeling abundant. Anyone can lose that security by beginning to worry about debt all the time, by focusing on scarcity, or listening to everyone around them that complains about money. Complaining is the fastest way to attract more debt to complain about or lose a job or have a business that goes under.

See money as energy, that will go out and always come right back to you. Being a gracious tipper, tithing, donating to charity or helping anyone in need can be abundant actions if you feel happy and abundant when you are giving.

Remember your thoughts help predict your future but your emotions are giving you a prelude to what’s coming. Bad attitude=more bad days. Complaining=more to complain about. Gratitude=more to be grateful for. Whatever you are paying attention to, thinking about, telling stories about, is like writing the screenplay of your life. If you don’t like the movie, then change the script.
